The United States Of America created history as they beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets on Wednesday (22nd May) in Houston. Steven Taylor's brilliant bowling reduced Bangladesh to a paltry 153 on the board. In reply Harmeet Singh and Corey Anderson's unbeaten 62 run stand off just 28 balls helped USA create history. This is USA's maiden victory in T20I's over a full-time test nation.

Being asked to bat first, Bangladesh didn’t have a solid way to start their innings. Litton Das yet again found it tough to get going as he consumed 15 balls to score just 14 runs before being trapped for a LBW to Jessy Singh. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto too fell cheaply, as he galloped 11 balls to accumulate only 3 runs.

Soumya Sarkar had a good start but couldn’t capitalise his innings as he made 20 off 13 balls. Star all-rounder Shakib too fell cheaply and Bangladesh were succumbing on 68-4. And then Towhid Hridoy and Mahmudullah Riyad stitched a briliant partnership to help Bangladesh comeback from the abyssal.

The duo brought up a 67 run stand of just 47 balls before Mahmudullah fell to Netravalkar on 31 off 22 balls. But Towhid Hridoy was calm and composed and he notched up a crucial fifty in the process and scored 58 off 47 balls to help the visitors post 153 on the board.

Steven Taylor picked up 2 wickets, while Netravalkar, Ali Khan and Jessy Singh shared one wicket apiece.

In reply, USA started off nicely. Steven Taylor saw flurry of boundaries earlier but then found tough to get going as he scored 28 runs off 29 balls. Other opener Monak Patel made 12 off 10 balls. Andries Gous came at number three and raced his way to 33 off only 18 balls, which shifted the momentum to the USA's way after two quick wickets.

USA needed 55 runs off the last overs and Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh showed their monstrous prowess. Harmeet ripped through Bangladesh bowlers and blazed a glorious 33 off just 13 balls, while Anderson steered the ship with his gutsy 34 off 25 balls. The duo brought up a crucial 62 run stand off 28 balls which helped their side chase down the total. USA won the match by 5 wickets, and this is their maiden win against a full nation test side.
