Top five teams confirmed for the BBL 2022-23 knockouts
Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat will face each other in the eliminator on Friday (January 27) and the winner will face Melbourne Renegades in the knockout on January 29. In between, Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers will fight to in the qualifier qualify in the final on January 28.

With the last two matches finished on Wednesday (January 25), the five teams for the knockouts have been confirmed in this year’s Big Bash League (BBL).
In the first match of the day, Hobart Hurricanes kept their hope alive beating Brisbane Heat by 2 runs in a last-ball thriller but Sydney Thunder beat Melbourne Stars by 3 wickets in the second match of the day which eliminated Hobart from the tournament.
With that, Sydney Thunder finish in the fourth position in the points table with 14 points in 14 matches. Brisbane Heat are in fifth position with 13 points while the top 3 teams are Perth Scorchers (22 points), Sydney Sixers (21 points), and Melbourne Renegades (14 points).
Hobart Hurricanes (12 points), Adelaide Strikers (10 points) and Melbourne Stars (6 points) are eliminated from the tournament.
