Kiwi star pacer Trent Boult admitted this is going to be his last T20 World Cup after a 2 wicket-haul against Uganda, where New Zealand thrashed them by 9 wickets.

New Zealand are out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, while from this Group C Afghanistan and Windies are through to the Super-Eight. In the third affair, which was ultimately a dead rubber for New Zealand, they beat the African nation, Uganda by 9 wickets and claimed two points.

In T20 World Cup matches, Boult's career has been excellent. He stacked uo 32 wickets in his 17 outings, and an economy rate of 6.07, the second-best among the tournament's top ten all-time wicket-takers. Boult after winning against Uganda, said this is his last T20 World Cup. But he backed his partner Tim Southee to play more for New Zealand. 

"I look at the partnership with Tim with very fond memories," he said. "We bowled a lot of overs together. I know the partnership very well, and obviously he's a very good friend on and off the ground. It was nice to wind back the clock a little bit and see a bit of swing bowling at the top. Some great memories, and hopefully a couple more still to come."

"Speaking on behalf of myself, this will be my last T20 World Cup," Boult told the media.

With Boult leaving out and they had only 3 players under 30 age at this T20 World Cup, New Zealand have to really find some fringe or rookie players who will carry the next generation. Also they haven’t reached to the Super-Eight which rises the question is this the end of their era and they'll need to find for another generation?
