Temba Bavuma ruled out of the first ODI against Afghanistan, Aiden Markram to lead Proteas

Temba Bavuma is ruled out of the first ODI against Afghanistan due to an illness and hence Aiden Markram will lead the Proteas in Sharjah on Wednesday.
Temba Bavuma This will be the maiden bilateral series between South Africa and Afghanistan. The last time these two teams met was in the semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the Caribbeans, where the Proteas thrashed Afghans to reach to the finals.
South Africa will play a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan and then will play a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series against Ireland in the UAE.
