The government of New Zealand has imposed strict rules on coronavirus. A 14-day quarantine is mandatory for anyone visiting the country. The same thing happened with the cricketers of Bangladesh team. The cricketers are in New Zealand to play three ODIs and three T20Is. Bangladesh ended its 14-day quarantine on its way to Queenstown.
But it is new for Bangladesh cricketers. They had never been in quarantine before under such strict rules. However, the NZC has no shortage of opportunities for all staff, from cricketers. That is why Tamim thanked the country's cricket board.
“It feels great. It's a first time experience for us. We have been in a bubble but not in a complete isolation. But honestly they actually look after really really well, all the staffs and the way New Zealand cricket arrange everything. From our team, we can only say Thank You. And I thought it's a difficult place to be but thy made it as comfortable as possible,” Tamim said.
Due to being in quarantine, Bangladesh have to travel for a few more days than before. Arriving in New Zealand on February 24, the cricketers of the Bangladesh team have been in quarantine for so long. The opener of the Bangladesh team has respected the rules of the country's government.
“Definitely, it’s difficult. It makes huge difference. We're probably touring this time in New Zealand for 45 days, wherever in a normal situation it could have been 20 days and then go back home. But now you have to do isolation for more 14 days. Things are different now. We have to respect the rules of the country as well. And look forward. The good thing is, we're out in a fresh air now. We don't have particular time like we're in isolation where we are given some particular time. But all good now,” Tamim added.
