Bangladesh’s cricketing icon Tamim Iqbal has been getting care at KPJ Specialized Hospital since Monday, when he had a serious heart attack.  The most recent news is good news: Tamim is feeling better and is reacting well to treatment.  Doctors say that even though his health is safe, the next 48 hours are very important.

According to medical sources, Tamim was able to communicate with doctors and his family, saying, "I feel better than before." He has even tried to walk a little inside the hospital's Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), which is a good sign.  He is being closely watched right now, and more medical tests are planned for Tuesday afternoon.  He might be taken to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka by evening if everything goes well.

The quick medical help that Tamim got was very important in saving his life.  He was taken right away to the nearby KPJ Specialized Hospital after having chest pain on the field during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match against Shinepukur Cricket Club.

An angiogram showed that an artery was stopped, which led to an emergency stenting operation.  Thanks to quick medical help, Tamim is now slowly getting better.  His official Facebook page also stated that the surgery went well, which made people all over the world feel better.

During this very difficult time, Tamim's wife Ayesha Siddiqa, his older brother Nafees Iqbal, and other family members have been by his side.  The president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Faruque Ahmed, and a director of the board, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, also went to the hospital to check on him.

As the cricket world prays for his full recovery, Tamim is still being closely watched by doctors. He hopes to be fully recovered soon.
