Many supporters were happy with the news that Shaun Tait and Ross Taylor want to be the coach of Bangladesh. But for now, these two legends who rocked the world in their respective roles are not available. Tait has taken charge of the other team, Taylor is not coming for different reasons.
Batting coach, pace bowling coach, trainer, physio - interviews of interested candidates for these posts of the national team were held on Tuesday (February 6). Although Rangana Herath has not been renewed, the spin bowling coach has not been settled yet.
After that interview and the meeting of the coach appointment committee, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, a member of the committee, said that Stuart Law, David Hemp, Colly Collymore have been interviewed, but Tait is not coming this time. Because his contract with West Indies was done before interviewing for the position of Bangladesh coach.
Meanwhile, Kiwi legend Ross Taylor was interested in the post of batting coach. However, there was no deal with him. Durjoy said, “We have been in touch with Taylor but he has some time constraints.”
Whoever the new coach will be, they will have to work with Chandika Hathurusingha. However, Hathurusingha's influence in appointing coaches is not there. Durjoy added, “Hathurusingha is the head coach, he has the opportunity to have his opinion. The committee will decide. For the Bangladesh team, we will consider the one who is most qualified, who can give the most output.”
