Former Australia cricketer Stuart Law has been hired as the new head coach of the USA men's team ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Basically, this big decision of the USA Cricket Board in front of the World Cup. His first job in command will be a three-match T20I series at home against Bangladesh before the T20 World Cup in June, which the USA and West Indies will co-host.

"It is an exciting opportunity to join USA cricket at this time. USA is one of the strongest Associate nations in the sport, and I believe that we can mold a formidable squad going ahead. The first task will be to prepare the team for the series against Bangladesh and then set our sights on our home World Cup, which will be huge,” Law said.

"Stuart is one of the most accomplished coaches in the sport. He brings a lot of experience to USA Cricket with his varied assignments, particularly in developing international sides over the years. His appointment will only help the team grow to their full potential. We are excited to have Stuart on board just before the World Cup and look forward to lots of successes together,” USA Cricket chairman Venu Pisike said.

Law first took over as head coach in Bangladesh in 2011. Before that, he worked as an assistant coach of Sri Lanka in 2009. Law has been quite active in international cricket in recent times. He worked with West Indies in 2017-18 on a 2-year contract. After working as interim coach of Afghanistan in 2022, he got the responsibility of head coach of Bangladesh U19 team.

The T20 World Cup will be held next June. The United States is co-hosting this year's World Cup with the West Indies. A venue that is still largely unknown to cricket. Bangladesh has two matches in the group stage in the United States. So the world cricket has doubts about this new venue.
