Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad has heaped praise on Liam Livingstone following the all-rounder's explosive knock in the fourth ODI against Australia at Lord's. Livingstone, who wasn’t initially part of the squad, showcased his immense talent by smashing a quickfire half-century, helping England level the series at 2-2.

Livingstone’s innings was particularly notable for his aggressive display against Australia's left-arm speedster Mitchell Starc. The 31-year-old hit four massive sixes in the final over, with Starc conceding 28 runs to help England post a commanding total. Stuart Broad, speaking on Sky Sports, emphasized how Livingstone proved his worth to the selectors with this match-winning performance

Broad expressed that Livingstone gave England exactly what they needed in the rain-shortened match. He stated, “That’s exactly what England want from Livingstone. We have to remember that Livingstone wasn’t even in the original squad. He’s shown the England selectors exactly why he should be in white-ball squads and hopefully winning games for England.”

The former pacer highlighted Livingstone’s raw power and ability to hit eye-catching shots, stating: “He has always had superb strength, plays some really eye-catching shots, and is such a powerful striker of the ball.”

While Livingstone’s aggressive innings played a crucial role in England's imposing total, Matthew Potts was also instrumental in sealing the win. Potts took four wickets, reducing Australia to a paltry 126 all out, securing a dominant victory for the hosts.
