Lucknow Super Giants have beaten Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets on Tuesday (30th April). A stunning 62 off 45 balls from all-rounder Marcus Stoinis steered LSG chase down MI's 145 total and helped them get into the top four.

Stoin once again showed his class and handed LSG a comprehensive win.
Opting to bowl first, LSG were breathing fire with the new ball as they marginalised MI to 28-4 at the end of the powerplay. The two left-handers - Ishan Kishan and Nehal Wadhera - steadided the ship somewhat by stitching a half-century stand (slowest of IPL 2024). Kishan was dropped on 8 by Turner off Mayank's bowling but the MI opener eventually perished against Bishnoi for 32 at a SR under 90. Nehal Wadhera upped the ante and MI's scoring rate crossed 6 RPO in the 16th over. Mohsin Khan bowled a superb yorker to clean up the set batter.

Tim David played a little cameo of unbeaten 35* off 18 balls which helped MI score 144-7 on the board. Captain Hardik had another poor outing as he fell on a golden duck.

Chasing the total, captain Rahul looked solid and made 28 off 22 balls and Stoinis got a fifty and scored most of the runs in the chase. That covered most of the chase. They lost a few wickets towards the end. But that couldn’t stop LSG from chasing down the total. Pooran held his nerves to finish it off in the final over.

MI remain with three wins out of 10 games. Their chances of making it to the top four is very bleak now even if they win all their games. LSG though have strengthened their chances of making it to the top four as they've pased through SRH with this point and going now strongly.
