The SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket) has announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming England Test tour. Dhananjaya De Silva will continue to lead the Test side, Kusal Mendis will be the vice-captain. Also, Pathun Nissanka has been recalled to the Test squad.

The Lankan side will play a 3 match Test series against England.The experienced campaigners Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal are still going in the side, while they've some rising youngsters in their batting stock. Such as - Nishan Madushka and Sadeera Samarawickrama. They also have two spinning all-rounders in the side - Kamindu Mendis and Ramesh Mendis.

Uncapped bowler Nisala Tharaka has been added to the squad. The duo of Asitha Fernando and Vishwa Fernando are also likely to play a crucial role in English conditions while Prabath Jayasuriya and Jeffrey Vandersay are the two frontline spinners for the Lankan side.

The three-match Test series is scheduled to commence on 21st of August at Old Trafford while the second and third Tests will be played at the Lord's and Kia Oval respectively.
