If you predict the performance of the tournament by looking at the results of the first match, then you will be in trouble in the case of Durdanto Dhaka. Dhaka got off to a great start by defeating the defending champions Comilla Victorians in the first match of the season and then lost 11 consecutive matches. Although Dhaka faded as a team, Shoriful Islam was brilliant in his skills. 

Durdanto Dhaka ended this season with only 1 win in 12 matches. Taskin-Mosaddek's Dhaka finished the tournament with a record of consecutive losses in BPL after losing 11 consecutive matches. However, after the 35th match, if you look at the list of highest run scorers and wicket takers of the tournament, you will see the great Dhaka cricketers first.

Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 22 wickets with the ball. He has taken 22 wickets in 12 innings at a bowling average of 15.86. Second-placed bowler Mahedi Hasan has seven fewer wickets than him. Even the second highest wicket-taking pacer is Taskin Ahmed who took 13 wickets in 12 matches of Dhaka.

Shoriful Islam was in great form from the beginning of the tournament. His inswinging deliveries coming over the wicket against right-handed batter with the new ball have caught everyone's attention.

13 of his 22 wickets came in the powerplay. Out of these 13 wickets, 6 wickets came in the new ball inswing against the right-handed batter.  He continued to show off this new weapon added to his arsenal during the tour of New Zealand for the national team. He came to BPL and told that the weapon had become more sophisticated.
