Shoriful Islam ruled out of Bangladesh's opening match of T20 WC 2024 against Sri Lanka
In the warm-up match against India Shoriful Islam got injured. In the last over of India's innings, Shoriful tried to stop a shot from Hardik Pandya and got his fingers injured. Immediately he neded to leave the field.

Bangladesh's star paceman Shoriful Islam is ruled out of the first match against Sri Lanka on 8th June in Dallas.

In the warm-up match against India Shoriful Islam got injured. In the last over of India's innings, Shoriful tried to stop a shot from Hardik Pandya and got his fingers injured. Immediately he neded to leave the field.
After the match, he neded 6 stitches in his bowling hand and this rules him out of the opening match of Bangladesh against Sri Lanka on 8th June in Dallas. This will be a big blow for Bangladesh ahead of the high-octane clash against their arch-rivals Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh have been clubbed in the Group D along with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. They begin their World Cup campaign on 8th June and then will be followed by 10th June against South Africa, 13th and 17th June against Netherlands and Nepal respectively.
