Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood, known for his contributions to Multan Sultans in previous seasons of the Pakistan Super League, has officially joined the ranks of Karachi Kings.
Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has joined the Karachi Kings for the 9th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in a swap deal with left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram, who will play for the Multan Sultans in the tournament.
Masood previously played the key role in the Multan Sultans dressing room and will now represent the Kings due to the trade between them and Multan Sultans.
Shan Masood, who initially joined Multan Sultans in the 2018 season and made his impressive HBL-PSL debut against Karachi Kings in 2019, has made a significant contribution throughout his league career.
He led the Sultans to the top of the league in the 2020 season and qualified for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. He has amassed 1,318 runs in 42 matches. His presence also played a crucial role in the Sultans' title win in 2021.
Salman Iqbal, the owner of Karachi Kings, warmly welcomed Shan Masood and expressed utmost satisfaction over his inclusion in the squad. The process of renewing the local player category for the upcoming ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was completed on November 10 with the upgrading of categories for nine players.
The PSL Player Draft for the ninth season will be held on December 13, 2023 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
