Shamim Hossain, the player of the Youth World Cup winning team, created a lot of positive talks when he came to the national team. Shamim did not take time to see the reverse side of the coin after failing in the T20 World Cup and leaving the team. After that, he performed again and returned to the national team. Shamim is hopeful of doing well in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) even if he flops in some matches.

Shamim will play for Rangpur Riders in BPL. Rangpur’s practice session has already started. Shamim is getting ready to play on all types of wickets. He wants to play according to the situation.

Shamim said, “It (practice) is a place to prepare ourselves as we can bat as we wish. So it's a good opportunity to prepare yourself. No matter where we play, we have to adapt to the wicket. The wicket does not matter. The goal is to play according to the situation, to finish the innings well wherever I bat."

Bangladesh's big problem in T20 is power-hitting. Bangladesh has not yet seen any power hitters like Russell and Pollard. Shamim showed hope with power-hitting. However, Shamim failed to show batting glimpses.

“I’m working more on power hitting so that it does not become a problem in international cricket. There is nothing to be upset about two-one matches going badly. It's not that big of a problem. I got runs in most matches. There are many opportunities to make a comeback,” Shamim added.

Rangpur is a little different than other teams in BPL. Rangpur are practicing at their home ground before the BPL. Team bonding is also quite good. Rangpur will play a warm-up match with Dhaka before the start of BPL.
