Although not a competitive match, Peshawar Zalmi will play an exhibition match against Quetta Gladiators. Afridi will be seen in that match. Zalmi confirmed this news in a tweet on Friday.

The incident does not end here. According to Pakistani media CricketPakistan.com, Afridi will also be seen in the eighth season of PSL starting next month. Citing sources, the website said, the news of Afridi's agreement with Zalmi to play PSL will be officially announced soon.

The eighth season of PSL will start on February 13. Afridi played in the first seven editions of the tournament. He played in the Quetta Gladiators jersey in the last tournament. After that, he said that he will play in the Kashmir Premier League, but he could not return to the field due to long-standing back pain.

Afridi was made interim chief selector when Najam Sethi took over as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman late last year. After the series against New Zealand, Afridi refused to accept the PCB's request to continue his duties. He said, he had other engagements. Was that refusal to return to competitive cricket?
