Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged Bangabandhu T20 Cup few days ago with the participation of five teams. Shafiul got injured while playing in this exciting tournament. He played only two matches in the tournament. After November 26, he did not play any matches for the team. Then he was under the supervision of the medical team of BCB.
On December 21, BCB chief physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury said that Shafiul was being given injections to heal his spinal cord injury. However, if the injection treatment is not effective, advanced treatment may be required abroad. In the end, Shafiul had to take that decision. So fitness is not getting back in less time as expected.
At the moment, Shafiul is suffering from back injury. He will have to seek the help of a specialist in India to heal the injury. Shafiul has appealed to the BCB to end his sufferings, so that he can easily get an Indian visa. Shafiul wants to go to India for treatment as soon as possible.
A BCB selector told BDCricTime that Shafiul will also be out of action for the upcoming West Indies series due to injury. The selectors will plan to sort out the squad without him.
