Nepal's star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has become the second fastest in the history of T20I Cricket to 100 wickets during the match against Bangladesh on Monday (17th June).

Lamichhane returned figures with 2 -17 in the match between Bangladesh and Nepal in ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as Nepal skittled Bangladesh out for a measly 106 in their Group D match. With this, he overall became 16th bowler in the history of T20I's to claim 100 T20 International wickets and the second bowler from an associate Nation team to pick 100 T20I wickets.
Prior to Lamichhane, Bilal Khan of Oman was the only bowler from associate nations to pick up 100 wickets in T20 internationals.
Sandeep Lamichhane is now also the second fastest bowler to pick 100 wickets in T20 International Cricket.

However, in the match Nepal were beaten by Bangladesh by 21 runs to book their tickets to the Super-Eight of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Bangladesh posted a below par total of 106 on the board before a clinical bowling performance, especially from Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman helped Bangladesh clinch a 21 run victory over Nepal.
