's young promising all-rounder
Saikat said he is looking to make the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017, his first ever major 50-over ICC event, a memorable one.
Though he couldn't get enough opportunity to showcase his talents in the ongoing tri-nation series in Ireland, he believed things will change in the Champions Trophy.
"You see, I haven't yet got enough chances to bat. So I don't think my preparation has so far been very good. Besides the condition here in Ireland is also a bit piculiar, and different from what we had experienced in
during the conditiong camp," said Saikat.
Saikat also said that the condition is not coming of much help for the slow bowlers. "Pacers, I mean Rubel bhai, Mashrafe bhai and Mustafizur are finding it easy to bowl here. But unfortunately it's not that too easy for the slow bowlers. As a spinner, you need to play very well to get among the wickets."
As per what his goal is ahead of the showpiece cricketing event of the year, Saikat said to play well and make contribution for the team is always on the wishlist. "It's my first big experience, so obviously I want to make it special. But teamwork comes first, and is the most important thing. If we can play all as a unit, we will definitely do well."
