The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is sending Mohammad Saifuddin abroad for treatment to determine the injury's most recent status. Next week, the medium-pace bowling all-rounder will travel to Qatar. Along with Saifuddin, pace bowling all-rounder Avishek Das and pacer Ashiqur Zaman will also travel to Qatar.

The medical department of the BCB said that these three cricketers will be treated at a sports medicine hospital named 'Aspetar'.

Those who are fans of Brazilian and PSG football star Neymar, however, should be surprised to hear the name of Qatar's "Aspetar" hospital. Neymar recovered after receiving multiple treatments from this hospital. For the first time in 2019, Neymar was treated at Aspetar Hospital to recover from an ankle injury. After that, Neymar underwent surgery in this hospital for the injury sustained during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the latest ankle injury.

Not only Neymar, many star footballers receive regular treatment at the Aspetar hospital. This hospital has come into the limelight by treating injured footballers in the last FIFA World Cup.

BCB is sending Saifuddin, Avishek, and Ashiqur for treatment there on the advice of Dr. Pieter D'Hooghe, Chief Medical Officer of Aspetar Hospital, which is involved in Neymar's treatment. Saifuddin and Avishek will consult spine specialists. Ashiqur will consult a groin specialist.

Saifuddin is suffering from a chronic back injury. That is why he is out of cricket for now. Even he has not been called up for the ongoing 32-member conditioning camp for the Asia Cup. Avishek, who played for the 2020 U-19 World Cup winning team, has been suffering from back pain for a long time. Ashiqur, who played the last U-19 World Cup, is struggling with injuries.

Saifuddin played 12 matches for Abahani in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) held last March-April. He took 19 wickets there. He conceded 5.18 runs per over. He also scored 112 runs with the bat. After DPL, Saifuddin did not enter the field.

Under-19 World Cup-winning all-rounder Avishek played a match in the DPL the same year after the 2020 World Cup final. He’s not in competitive cricket after that. Last year, however, he played a few matches in the First Division Cricket League, but that too as a batter. Ashiqur last played professional cricket in the last BPL, for Comilla Victorians.
