The 26-year old batsman has threatened the match referee to not say anything to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Sabbir said to the match referee Shawkatur Rahman: "It will be not good for you if you complain to BCB. It won't be good for anyone of you."
This type of behavior from Sabbir has shocked the match referee and he has included this along with hitting the fan on his report which he submitted to the BCB.
The incident happened during Rajshahi-Dhaka Metro's match in NCL. When Sabbir was coming to bat, a fan from the gallery teased Sabbir with the word "meow." Later, Sabbir took the permission of both the on field umpires to go outside the field for a while. Then he called the fan in the back of the side screen and hit him. The on field umpires came to know as soon as the incident happened.
Before this, Sabbir was involved in a controversy before when he was fined 13 lakh taka for misconducting with the umpires in 2016's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Some reports suggest that he will be fined 5 lakh taka for the recent incident.
