Indian wicketkeeper Batsman Rishabh Pant recently reminisced about Suryakumar Yadav's remarkable boundary catch that dismissed David Miller during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa. In a conversation on comedian Tanmay Bhat’s YouTube channel, Pant revealed how he initially thought Miller's shot was destined for a six, only for Suryakumar's brilliance to alter the course of the match.

The moment in question occurred when South Africa needed 16 runs off the last six balls, with Miller at the crease. On the first ball of Hardik Pandya’s over, the southpaw Miller struck a powerful shot down the ground, seemingly heading for a six. However, Suryakumar Yadav pulled off a sensational catch at long-off, which proved to be a turning point in India's historic World Cup triumph.

Pant, who was on the field when the catch was taken, recalled the tension surrounding the moment, stating, "When the ball was in the air, it felt like everything was gone. When it hit the bat, it seemed like a sure-shot six. The ball didn't cross the boundary line because of the Indian fans' prayers."

The catch has since been celebrated by Indian fans as one of the defining moments in the match. Many continue to talk about Yadav’s athleticism and timing, marking it as a game-changer in India’s World Cup victory.

Pant also shared his thoughts on how the World Cup-winning moment will stay with him forever but emphasised the need to move forward, stating, "I am not thinking much about it now because I feel in India, people forget after 10-15 days what you have done. So, it is important for you to forget these things as well. That moment will always be there with me, but now we have to move on and focus on what's next."
