India's star wk-batter and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined for slow over rate. It happened in the fixture against Chennai Super Kings where his side beat CSK by 20 runs to open their bank in this season.
Rishabh Pant blasted a 51 off 32 balls last night to hand DC their maiden win in the season.
Delhi Capitals batted first and dual fifties from Australia's pocket sized dynamo David Warner and skipper Rishabh Pant drove DC to 191 runs after 20 overs. With the ball, Khaleel Ahmed ran riot through the CSK top order and then Mukesh Kumar shattered the middle order of CSK to hand DC their maiden victory. Despite the Dhoni heroics at the backend of the innings, CSK couldn't make it three on the trot.
However despite a great comeback in the match with a match winning fifty, Rishabh Pant was fined for slow over rate. And BCCI narrated that he's fined for INR 12 lakhs. Before Pant, Gujrat Titans captain Shubman Gill was fined for INR 12 lakhs.
Delhi Capitals next match is against Kolkata Knight Riders on 3rd April in Vishakhapatnam. While Chennai Super Kings next match is up against Pat Cummins Sunrisers Hyderabad on 5th April in Hyderabad.
