After India defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the T20 International Series, star batter Rinku Singh of India won the award of "Fielder of the Series” in the dressing room.

Following Tuesday's victory, T. Dilip, the fielding coach for the Indian cricket team, chose to carry on the tradition by presenting the medal to new coach Gautam Gambhir and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate. Aside from Rinku, the leading candidates were Ravi Bishnoi and Riyan Parag. Rinku won the medal after managing to stave off the opposition from the other two field players. He received the medal from Ten Doeschate.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) ‘X’ shared a video of the medal ceremony that happens in the changing room following each game.

With just two runs in two innings, Rinku did not have a fantastic series at bat. Because the Indian top-order completed the majority of the job, he did not have many opportunities to show off his abilities. In the final T20 International, he batted at No. 4 but was out trying to drive Maheesh Theekshana off the field.

Nevertheless, the young player made sure to contribute significantly on the pitch, and his enthusiasm was evident. Even though the second T20I got off to a dismal start, Rinku made sure to maintain his energy and made a significant contribution throughout the field.

Rinku excelled with the ball, even if his fielding was a notable aspect of the series. Captain Suryakumar Yadav made the decision to give the ball to the batter in the 19th over of the game since he had to defend 9 runs off 12 balls. He took 2 wickets in that over and helped India to tie the match and later India won the match in the Super Over.
