Rashid Khan, the T20 captain of the Afghanistan team, has touched a new milestone in the SA20 match between MI Cape Town and Pretoria Capitals. He becomes the second bowler to take 500 wickets in T20.
There is no T20 tournament in the era of franchise cricket where Rashid has not played. BPL, IPL, CPL, Big Bash, or the recently started T20 League in South Africa.
Everyone knows him as a mysterious bowler in T20. The leg-spinner has touched the milestone of 500 wickets in T20 cricket only at the age of 24 years.
He is playing for MI Cape Town in the T20 League of South Africa. Rashid touched this milestone by bowling Bjorn Fortuin in the 15th over of the innings.
Of course, the day was Rashid's. He was also brilliant with the ball. He took three wickets for just 16 runs after bowling four overs against Pretoria. Apart from Fortuin, he got the wickets of Rilee Rossouw and Kushal Mendis.
