The five-match ODI series between the host Bangladesh U-19 and the visiting Pakistan U-19 team is underway. Bangladesh did not perform as expected in the first match of the series. Pakistan defeated the hosts by a huge margin of 9 wickets.

Batting first at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh fell into a batting disaster. The team started poorly with the dismissal of Ashiqur Rahman Shibli for 6 runs, then the team lost wickets at regular intervals as they lost 5 wickets within team's 41 runs.

After that, Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, who came down to number 7, fought alone. He remained unbeaten on 70 runs off 100 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. In the scheduled 50 overs, Bangladesh scored 165 runs, losing 9 wickets.

Among others, Adil Bin Siddik scored 23 runs, Parvez Rahman Jibon scored 19 runs and Wasi Siddiquee scored 15 runs. Amir Hasan took five wickets for Pakistan.

Playing for the win, Pakistan got off to a flying start with the bat of two openers, Azan Awais and Shahzaib Khan. The two put on an opening stand of 148 runs. Shahzaib departed after scoring 83 runs off 116 balls just before the victory. However, Azan left the field with a victory along with Shamyl Hussain. He was unbeaten on 69 runs off 100 balls. Rabby took the only wicket with the ball for Bangladesh.
