Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs on Tuesday (April 9). A sensational 103 off just 42 deliveries and 52* off 36 balls helped the PBKS get to a mammoth 219 on the board. In response, Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Maxwell bowled superbly to hand PBKS a fine 18 runs victory.

Priyansh AryaOpting to bat first, PBKS had a horrible way to start to their innings as wicketkeeper batter Prabhsimran Singh departed for a two-ball duck. Skipper Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell all fell in the single digit as PBKS were crumbling on 83/5.

However, Priyansh Arya stood tall amid the collapse and he had Shashank Singh as his partner as the duo stitched a crucial 71 runs stand. Priyansh Arya blasted a sensational hundred, smashing 103 off only 42 deliveries, orchestrating his innings with 9 massive sixes and 7 boundaries.

While Shashank Singh gave perfect finishing with his unbeaten 52* off 36 balls and Marco Jansen too played a little cameo of 34* off 19 balls as PBKS ended their innings on 219 on the board.

In response, Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway started brilliantly, adding 61 runs before the fall of Ravindra. Lockie Ferguson then had skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad as CSK sinked further.

Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni too played some little cameos but weren’t able to take their side home. CSK were faltered after the retired hurt of Devon Conway, as he was in sublime touch during his 69* off 49 balls. And ultimately CSK lost the game by 18 runs.
