This incident occurred on Day 3 of the Test, which India eventually won by a massive 280 runs. The lighthearted moment drew attention when Pant, noticing two fielders standing close to each other and a gap at mid-wicket, suggested that one of the fielders should move to the vacant area.

After the match, Pant revealed that this gesture was inspired by a conversation he had with former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja, who had advised him to focus on improving the overall quality of cricket, no matter the situation or opposition.

Pant explained, "I keep talking to Ajay bhai off the field. He says that ‘the quality of cricket should keep improving,’ whenever you are playing and whoever you are playing against. I saw that there was no fielder there (mid-wicket). I saw two fielders in the same area, so I told them to move one fielder to the mid-field position.”
