In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Test series between Pakistan and England, cricket commentator and former England captain, Nasser Hussain, has issued a word of caution to the visitors. Despite Pakistan’s recent struggles in Test cricket, Hussain believes that England should not take them lightly, especially when playing in home conditions.

Pakistan has endured a difficult few months in the longest format of the game, recently suffering a 2-0 defeat to Bangladesh. Even before that, the side had struggled at home, losing crucial matches and series due to inconsistent performances. However, Hussain reminded fans and players alike that Pakistan, while mercurial, remains a proud cricketing nation with the ability to bounce back.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hussain reflected on Pakistan’s recent form, stating, "Pakistan are always a mercurial side that have ups and downs, but at the moment, they're on a real low, in all formats. They didn't have a great (T20) World Cup. They've got another coach-captain combination in Jason Gillespie and Shan Masood, their star batter Babar Azam hasn't got a half-century in his last eight Test matches and has just given up the white-ball captaincy. But you'd be a fool to say that going to Pakistan and winning is an easy job to do."

The upcoming Test series, starting on October 7 at the Multan Cricket Stadium, will be crucial for Pakistan, who are looking to regain momentum. Last time England visited, the Ben Stokes-led side completed a 3-0 whitewash.

The former England captain further elaborated on the challenge that lies ahead for England: "They're a very proud cricketing nation, they won't like the slump that they're in, and they will still be a force at home. I think all eyes will be on Pakistan and whether they can up their game, because I think we sort of know what we're going to get from Ben Stokes and his team."
