Oman script a memorable win over tournament favorite Ireland

Oman created history by beating a full member team Ireland in the ICC Cricket World cup qualifiers. They have chased down an untouchable task of 282 runs. They chased it by 5 wickets and 11 balls to spare.
Earlier the day, Oman won the toss and elected to bowl first against Ireland. After being put into bat first, Ireland lost their openers inside the powerplay and were stuttering for 69-3. Harry Tector played a good innings to stop Ireland from collapsing. He made a fine 52 off 82 deliveries. Wk batter Tucker scored 26 off 18. But it was Dockrell's innings at the end which changed the scenario of the match. Dockrell scored a glorious 91 off 89 deliveries to take his side to a safe shore. With the help of lower order and Dockrell's magnificent innings Ireland scored 281-7.
Chasing the total, Oman got a hit as they lost their opener Jatinder Singh for 1. Number three batter Aqib Ilyas and Kashyap did see the storm of new ball and stitched a brilliant 94 run stand at the third wicket. Ilyas made 52 off 49, while the other scored 72 off 74 balls. Mohammad Nadeem too gave his hands in the chase as he scored a fine 46 off 53. At the end, skipper Zeeshan Maqsood scored a fantastic 59 to take his side home and make an upset in the tournament.
