Ollie Pope to captain as England announce XI for first Test against Sri Lanka
Ollie Pope is all set to become the England's Test captain in absence of Ben Stokes.

Ollie Pope Ben Stokes got injured during a match in the Hundred and has been ruled out from the entire English summer. Ollie Pope has taken the reins of the England's Men's team for the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
Also, Zak Crawley was ruled out of the Sri Lanka Test series due to finger injury. In absence of the dynamic batter, Dan Lawrence will open the innings for England's Men's team against Sri Lanka.
While, Yorkshire's explosive middle-order batter Harry Brook will be the vice-captain of the team and will support captain Ollie Pope. Durham seamer Matthew Potts has returned to the side for the first time since June 2023.
The spin attack will be richly on Shoaib Bashir once again. And the pace attack relies on Mark Wood, Matthew Potts, Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes.

The first Test commences from August 21 at the Old Trafford, Manchester.
