Nuwan Pradeep ruled out of World Cup because of his sickness[/caption] "Until he is given a "fit to travel certificate" by the doctors, he will stay back in England", a member of the team management, speaking exclusively over telephone from his hotel room in Leeds, said to this Reporter. The 32-year-old right arm fast bowler has been down with the chicken pox. "On Monday night, the team returned to Leeds (from Durham) in a coach immediately after the match against the West Indies but Nuwan Pradeep was not in the bus. He had to be brought in a small van separately", the source further added.

"Pradeep is in his room where visitors entry is strictly restricted. Chicken pox is highly contagious and to ensure no other members of the team and fellow passengers are affected, he may not be allowed to travel with the team".

The ICC has already done a group booking for the team to return home from Manchester to Colombo (via Dubai) on July 7 and Pradeep's booking date may be changed. "There is no major treatment he is undergoing. The pimples on his body are getting dried up but we don't want to take a chance". The players were given an off on Tuesday after the consolation win against West Indies. "Yes, the players are disappointed as we are out from the World Cup", a team member said. Few, if not more, changes are bound to take place in the team set up. Shammi Silva, the president of the SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket) board has returned to Sri Lanka. However, Harin Fernando, the hon. sports minister was at the ground to witness his team's victory against West Indies. Nuwan Pradeep's family members are not in England but families of those players who are still in England have stayed back to watch their last match against India
