At just 13 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a cricket sensation, securing a record-breaking INR 1.1 crore deal with Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. The rising talent, now the youngest player in IPL auction history.

Suryavanshi is currently playing in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup and is part of the Indian squad, Despite the pressure of the spotlight, the teenager insists he’s not letting the outside noise affect him.

 “I'm currently focused on my game. I’m not paying much attention to social media. I'm not bothered by what's happening around me. My current focus is on the Asia Cup and how we can win the trophy and then take it game by game. That's my focus right now.” he added via Sony Sports network.

The young batting sensation had already made waves earlier by becoming the youngest player to score a century in red-ball cricket at the Under-19 level. Now, his sights are set on achieving similar success in white-ball cricket.“It was a good feeling to score a 100 on debut. It was a good experience for me to play red ball, and now I’m excited to have a knock in the white ball as well.”

In addition to his natural abilities, Suryavanshi draws inspiration from cricket legend Brian Lara, modeling his game after the former West Indies great. The young cricketer admires Lara’s elegant strokeplay and aims to replicate his style while adding his unique flair.

“Brian Lara is my idol. I try to play like him, but I also want to stay natural with my own skills and keep improving,” Suryavanshi explained.
