Pakistan's veteran spinner Noman Ali has been announced as the ICC Men's Player of the Month for October 2024. He has edged out South Africa's pace sensation Kagiso Rabada and New Zealand's spinning all-rounder Mitchell Santner.

Noman AliNoman delivered two match changing spells in the last two Test matches against England, returning with match figures of 11/147 and 9/130 as Pakistan bounced back from their defeat in the first Test to end their three-year drought for a Test series victory at home. He also scored a resilient 45-run knock during the first innings of final Test, when his side were crumbling on 177-7.

Noman paid tribute to his teammates, who helped Pakistan fight back from an early defeat to clinch the series against England.

"I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month and deeply grateful to all my teammates who helped me put my best performances forward to help Pakistan win a historic home Test series against England," he said.

"It is always exciting to be a part of such memorable wins for your country.”

On the contrary, New Zealand's T20 World Cup winning all-rounder Amelia Kerr has been honoured as the ICC Women's Player of the Month for October 2024.

Kerr picked up 15 wickets, setting a tournament record for most wickets in a single edition of ICC Women's T20 World Cup, and also racked up 135 runs in of her six appearances making her the Player of the Tournament of the T20 World Cup 2024.
