Renowned coach and sports analyst Nazmul Abedeen Fahim has been appointed as a new director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Fahim's appointment was confirmed during today’s BCB board meeting, held in the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports today.

This meeting also saw Faruque Ahmed take over as the newly elected BCB President, marking a significant shift in the board's leadership.

Nazmul Abedeen Fahim’s role in Bangladeshi cricket has been pivotal, with his contributions as a coach and mentor to many of the country’s top cricketers. His appointment as a director is expected to bring valuable insight and experience to the BCB, particularly as the board navigates through recent changes in leadership. Fahim will likely to take the responsibilities of Game Development program.

Previously, the National Sports Council (NSC) had appointed Jalal Yunus and Sazzadul Alam Bobby as directors on the BCB board. While Jalal Yunus had already resigned, it remains unconfirmed whether Sazzadul Alam Bobby has also stepped down. In light of this, Fahim has been appointed as the new director, effectively replacing Bobby. Meanwhile, Faruque Ahmed has assumed the position of BCB President, filling the vacancy left by Jalal Yunus.

The reshuffling within the BCB leadership marks the end of the Nazmul Hassan Papon era, which had dominated Bangladeshi cricket administration for years. With Fahim's appointment, the board gains a seasoned professional who has a deep understanding of the game, both on and off the field. His presence on the board is anticipated to be a positive influence as the BCB moves forward under its new leadership.
