Bangladesh will play home series against New Zealand at the end of this month. Several changes were made to the squad announced for the two-Test series. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu explained the change and expressed optimism about the team. 

Hasan Murad is a completely new face in the national team. Besides, Hasan Mahmud, who is waiting for his Test debut, has also been kept in the squad. Earlier in the home series against West Indies, Hasan Mahmud was in the squad but did not get a chance to play the match. Moreover, Nayeem Hasan has been returned to the team. Nannu explained these changes.

Today (November 18) Nannu told the media, “We had to make a lot of changes in the team in the New Zealand series. We’re not getting 4 from the Afghanistan series. That’s why we exclude extra pacer Musfik Hasan. 2 spinners have been included in the team. We brought back Nayeem Hasan to the team, we brought the new Hasan Murad to the team. Because in NCL, he (Murad) performs quite well in first-class cricket. Also works well in high performance. We are hopeful that he will be able to match himself if given the opportunity.”

The first Test of the series will be played in Sylhet on November 28. The second Test is on November 6, in Dhaka.
