Bangladesh lost pathetically in the third and decider and lost the series by 1-2. Nuwan Thushara's hat-trick thumped Bangladesh by 28 runs despite some late heroics from Rishad Hossain. But Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto gave credit to Nuwan Thushara's bowling for this loss.
Losing the toss, Sri Lanka were inserted to bat first. Kusal Mendis' swashbuckling 86 off only 55 deliveries took Sri Lanka to 174-7. But chasing the total, Bangladesh were reduced to 32-6 and the credit to Nuwan Thushara for his unplayable bowling with the new ball. And Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto also admitted it.
"The way they started, they batted brilliantly but we came back nicely to restrict them to 174. Credit goes to Nuwan, he bowled brilliantly but we have to look back on how we play the first six overs. We played some good cricket in all three matches, happy for Rishad. We can take a lot of confidence from this series but ODIs is a different format, we are looking forward to it."
The ODI series is set to be commenced from Wednesday (13th March). All the ODI's will be at ZACS, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. Bangladesh already have announced their squad for ODI's but Sri Lanka is yet to announce.
