Though Bangladesh couldn’t secure victory, Rana’s impressive bowling performance earned praise from Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and Bangladesh's head coach Phil Simmons.

Facing Rana’s fiery pace, Nabi shared a moment from the game when he was caught off guard by Rana’s bouncer. Reflecting on his experience, Nabi said, “Nahid Rana is young and talented, incredibly fast. He surprised me with that bouncer.” This high praise from a seasoned player like Nabi adds to the young bowler’s confidence as he steps up in international cricket.

Phil Simmons, Bangladesh’s head coach, also expressed admiration for Rana’s ODI debut, noting his pace and energy on the field. Although the series ended with a 2-1 loss for Bangladesh, Simmons highlighted the impact Rana had on his first ODI performance.

When asked about Bangladesh’s star Shakib Al Hasan, who missed the series, Nabi commented, “Shakib is a senior player for Bangladesh. If he was here, he would likely have enjoyed bowling on this pitch.”

Asked about his potential return to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Nabi replied confidently, “Yes, Insha'Allah.”

Afghanistan win the first game by 92 runs, while Bangladesh bounced back with a 68-run victory in the second match. The final ODI turned into a thrilling contest, but Afghanistan clinched the win and took the series. Following this series, Bangladesh will tour the Caribbean for a full series against West Indies, including two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, beginning with the first Test on November 22.
