Chennai Super Kings have beaten Punjab Kings by 28 runs on Sunday (5th May) at the Dharamsala. Ravindra Jadeja's late blitz of 43 from just 26 balls helped CSK post 167 on the board. In reply, Ravindra Jadeja's excellent spell with the ball sealed the match for Chennai Super Kings.

It was Jadeja show all the way, when CSK were crumbling on 122-6, Jadeja showed the ray of hope and paddled through the way to 167 runs. In reply with the ball, he triggered the collapse at the middle order and scalped the key wickets of - Sam Curran, Ashutosh Sharma and Prabbhsimran. After the match, Jadeja said it was his role to build a partnership when CSK lose early wickets.

"(On the pitch) It was a day game, so the wicket was slow. As usual, it was expected because it was so hot. (On the batting innings) We had a good powerplay but did not get partnerships in the middle overs. I was trying to build a good partnership to then tee off at the end. (On their bowling performance) The fast bowlers bowled well in the powerplay. Tushar got two important wickets and then Mitch and me did the job in the middle overs. It (the pitch) always seems flat in the powerplay. But when the ball gets old, the ball does not always come on. When playing at a new venue, you don't know how much it will turn or stop. We thought we were 15-20 runs short but we did not bowl loose balls in the powerplay and the middle overs. My role as a batter is to build partnerships and then play the big shots towards the end. Sometimes, when we lose wickets in the powerplay, we do not get momentum. In the matches we win, we play all phases well." - Jadeja in the post match presentation.

With the victory CSK have jumped to third position after winning 6 matches out of 11.
