Mushfiqur made the record on Monday (February 24th) on the third day of the only Test against Zimbabwe.
Tamim's record as the highest run-scorer in the Test for Bangladesh was long gone. The left-handed opener scored 41 runs in the first innings of Bangladesh. As a result, his runs stood at 4,405.
Mushfiqur, however, went out of the way to reach after hitting his third double century in the same innings. Then Bangladesh declared the innings. As a result, Mushfiq's Test runs stood at 4,413.
Mushfiqur played 70 matches (130 innings) to overtake Tamim. Tamim, on the other hand, played 60 matches (115 innings) so far.
