MS Dhoni, widely regarded as one of the greatest cricket captains, is known for his composed demeanour on the field, earning him the nickname "Captain Cool." However, there have been moments when even Dhoni’s patience wore thin, most notably during a heated exchange in an IPL 2019 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals.

Former CSK pacer Mohit Sharma recently opened up about Dhoni’s rare on-field outbursts, offering a unique perspective into the usually calm legend's intense moments.

Sharma, who has played under Dhoni's leadership during his stints with CSK in 2013-2015 and again in 2019, reminisced about the IPL incident in 2019 when Dhoni stepped onto the field to confront umpires regarding a controversial decision. While this moment shocked fans, it highlighted Dhoni's fierce desire for perfection and fairness on the field.

“We were in the dugout and wanted to stop MS Dhoni, but he didn’t listen to us and also didn’t look behind. Dhoni entered the ground like a Lion,’ Mohit said. “He was furious with his dismissal, and when the incident happened, he asked whether it was a no-ball. We told him that the siren was played out. Then he didn’t stop,” he added.

The right-arm pacer currently plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. On the other hand, Dhoni hasn’t confirmed his availability for IPL 2025.
