Former Pakistan keeper-batsman Moin Khan has blamed the national team's medical panel for not treating Naseem Shah's injury well. The retired cricketer's statement came after Naseem's World Cup hopes were virtually dashed due to a shoulder injury.

Former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) medical panel for its handling of fast bowler Naseem Shah's injury.

In an exclusive interview, Khan claimed that the injury, which has now ruled Naseem out of the upcoming World Cup, was due to negligence on the part of the team's medical panel and physiotherapist.

“Naseem’s injury is a disaster for the Pakistan team’s medical panel and physiotherapist. Because he has been constantly complaining about having problems for three to four months, and yet he has been used non-stop. A player would always wish he wouldn't be dropped if he doesn't." When you talk about your injury, you have to take it very seriously. The medical board didn't take it seriously. That was a recipe for disaster.”

The former captain also urged the PCB authorities to hold the medical board accountable for the negligence. He highlighted the significant loss suffered by Pakistan, especially in the run-up to the World Cup, considering Naseem's impressive form and exceptional bowling skills.

“The authorities in the PCB should engage them the medical panel because we suffered a big defeat before the World Cup when Naseem was in form and bowling exceptionally. And that's why we have to take Hassan Ali now. Hassan Ali is an experienced bowler who has been through similar circumstances. From this point of view, this decision is appropriate and the selection of Hassan Ali is justified,” he said.

“The medical panel’s feedback on selection is crucial. The captain in particular is concerned with how to deal with a player's workload. All your players are talented. “The approach shouldn’t be that you spend the rest of the year with the same combination, that’s not possible, that’s difficult,” he added.
