Mohit topples Mustafizur to win the Purple Cap

Mustafizur Rahman lost his top place of picking up the highest wicket. Gujrat Titans' ace pacer Mohit Sharma toppled Mustafizur Rahman and won the Purple Cap, given for being the highest wicket-taker in a season.

On Thursday (4th April) Gujrat Titans had a fixture against Punjab Kings at home, Ahmedabad. Mohit Sharma conceded 38 runs and picked up a solitary wicket of Sikandar Raza. With that single wicket he past Mustafizur Rahman. Now both of them have 7 wickets apiece. Mustafizur is ahead of Mohit Sharma in bowling figure, average and strike rate. But Mohit won the Purple Cap because of his low economy rate. Mustafizur conceded 8.38 runs per over, whereas Mohit conceded 8.18 per over.
Barring Mustafizur and Mohit, no one has touched 7 wicket barrier. Mayank Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Khaleel Ahmed and Kagiso Rabada have 6 wickets apiece. While Trent Boult, Harshit Rana, Nandre Burger and Andre Russell picked up 5 wickets apiece in this season of IPL.
Mustafizur will not feature in today's clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to his visa processing of the USA for the upcoming T20 world cup. Even he's uncertain for the next match, which is set to be held on 8th April. So now it's time to see after coming back to the tournament, can Mustafizur regain his Purple Cap or not.
