The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin, and teams are finalizing their leadership choices. In a strategic move, Mohammad Mithun has been named captain of the Chittagong Kings, a squad boasting star players like Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, and Angelo Mathews. The announcement was made just a day before the tournament opener, setting high expectations for the Kings.

In another exciting development, Durbar Rajshahi, who recently signed pace sensation Taskin Ahmed, has appointed Anamul Haque Bijoy as their captain. Taskin will serve as Bijoy’s deputy, ensuring strong leadership both on and off the field.

So far, five teams have confirmed their captains for BPL 2025:

·         Fortune Barishal: Tamim Iqbal will continue to lead the defending champions after securing the title last season.

·         Rangpur Riders: Nurul Hasan Sohan, fresh off leading the team to a Global Super League title earlier this month, retains his captaincy.

·         Dhaka Capitals: Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera will lead a star-studded team featuring Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sabbir Rahman.

·         Chittagong Kings: Mohammad Mithun takes the reins, ready to guide a team filled with world-class talent.

·         Durbar Rajshahi: Anamul Haque Bijoy steps into the leadership role, supported by vice-captain Taskin Ahmed.

As of now, Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers are yet to announce their captains, adding a layer of anticipation for fans eagerly awaiting the full roster.
