Former Pakistan national cricket team speedster Mohammad Amir has once again stirred the cricket world with his honest take on the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a recent chat with Geo News Amir openly admitted that if given a chance he’d happily play in the IPL even ahead of Pakistan’s own PSL.

“Honestly, if I get the opportunity, I’ll play in the IPL. I’m saying this openly. But if I don’t get a chance, then I will play in the PSL,” Amir said, not holding back. He further added, “By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL and if given the chance, then why not?”

The left-arm pacer doesn’t think there will be a clash between the two leagues in 2026 thanks to the ICC Champions Trophy. But he was also clear about his stance on commitment, saying: “If I get picked in PSL first, then I can’t pull off, as I will be banned from the tournament.”

And when asked about his favorite IPL team? No surprises there it's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). “RCB is my favorite. First of all, Virat Kohli is there. And I feel that he always makes a good team, but he deserves to win a trophy,” Amir said.

As of now RCB is having a solid run in IPL 2025 winning 5 out of their 7 games, all on the road. With six matches to go, they’ll need three more wins to keep their playoff hopes alive.
