Moeen Ali is set for his maiden appearance in CPL, he was picked by Guyana Amazon Warriors to replace Saim Ayub. Saim Ayub was the second-leading run-scorer in CPL 2023 with 478 runs at a staggering average of 43.45 and a jaw dropping strike rate of 142.26. His heroics helped Guyana Amazon Warriors to win their maiden CPL title last year.
However, Ayub played the recent concluded two-match Test series against Bangladesh, where the hosts were thrashed by team Tigers by 2-0. Now Saim Ayub is set to play the 50-over domestic competition of Pakistan, which overlaps with the CPL. As a result, he will continue with domestic circuit.
Tim Robinson will stay with the Warriors squad as a replacement for Afghanistan wicket-keeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who will leave the CPL after the Barbados leg for national duty as the Afghanistan will play a historic one-off Test match against New Zealand at the Greater Noida, India.
