2 cricketers from Bangladesh have been named in the Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. Marufa Akter and Rabeya Khan are the two cricketers who have given Bangladesh new prospects in women’scricket. Salma Khatun, Jahanara Alam - who were once regular faces in the Women's T20 Challenge - did not get a place in this star-studded draft.

The Women's T20 Challenge was once known as the Women's IPL. This year, the Women's Premier League is being played on a larger scale. After the first edition, the second edition has been started. The auction will be held in Mumbai on December 9.

165 cricketers were named in that auction. Among them 104 Indian cricketers, 61 foreign cricketers. 15 of the foreigners are associate members of the country. In all, however, about 30 cricketers can be bought from the auction, out of which only 9 places are for foreigners.

The base price of the cricketers in the draft is between INR 10 lakh to 50 lakh. 18-year-old pacer Marufa Akter has a base price of INR 30 lakh. She has played 9 ODIs and 13 T20Is for the Bangladesh team. Another 18-year-old girl, Rabeya Khan, also has a base price of INR 30 lakh. Leg-spinning all-rounder Rabeya has played 7 ODIs and 14 T20Is for Bangladesh.
