South Africa are in a commendable position after day 2 in the Guyana Test match. Dual fifties from Aiden Markram and Kyle Verreynne helped them get to 223-5 in the third innings with a lead of 239 runs.

The 6th wicket partnership between Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder helped South Africa to climb on the top after day 2 in Guyana. 
The day started with West Indies being stuttering on 97-7. Jason Holder was the lone warrior out there and he batted sensibly to get to a brilliant fifty in a turmoil situation, scoring an unbeaten 54* off 88 deliveries. Shamar Joseph too hammered for a while and scored 25 to get to 144 for West Indies, trailing by 16 runs.

Wiaan Mulder was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa as he claimed 4 wickets, while Nandrw Burger had 3 wickets to his name.
South Africa started off to a good note. The openers Tony de Zorzi and Aiden Markram scratched up for a fine 79-run opening stand before Jayden Seales removed de Zorzi for 39.

Markram on the contrary, brought up a fifty and immediately then got trapped to Gudakesh Motie for LBW on 51. After the departure of their openers, South Africa lost the plot for a while, losing of couple of wickets in the procession did the damage for them. However, the 6th wicket partnership between Wicket-keeper batter Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder got together to stop the rut.

They've added 84 runs together already and the West Indies looked tired at the tad end of the day after this fantastic stand. Verreynne notched up a fifty and is unbeaten on 50* off 71 balls.

South Africa are currently on 223-5, with a lead of 239. The key pair is still out there and the Proteas will be hoping for 350 on the board. While the West Indies need to get back to the hut and have proper planning to stop South Africa from scoring 300.
