New Zealand batsman Mark Chapman, who missed the second ODI against Pakistan in Hamilton due to a hamstring injury, will also sit out the third and final ODI at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

Mark Chapman, the centurian of 1st ODI, won't feature in the third and deciding ODI between New Zealand (NZ) and Pakistan (PAK). The promising middle-order batsman is still recovering from the hamstring strain that he picked up during the first ODI in Napier at McLean Park. This was a dismal turn of fortunes after he had finally picked up his old form.

Chapman injured his left shoulder while fielding in the first ODI in Napier. He underwent a scan at training on Friday and it was found that he had not yet recovered for the last game of New Zealand's home summer.

A pre-season medical today revealed that Chapman has not yet recovered sufficiently to take his place in the XI for the final home match of the summer. Tim Seifert, who was due to replace Chapman in Hamilton, will remain in the squad for tomorrow's third ODI," New Zealand Cricket said in a statement.

Chapman was in top form during the series, playing a career-best 132 runs (111 runs) in the first ODI, hitting 13 fours and six sixes. His success helped New Zealand post an impressive 344/9 in their allotted 50 overs. The right-hander was deservedly named Man of the Match in his team's 73-run victory.

Seifert was nominated for his form during the T20I series, which New Zealand won 4-1. With 249 runs and a strike rate of 207.50, he was the highest run scorer and was named Player of the Series.
