Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first against West Indies in the first match of the two-match Test series on Saturday (November 30) in Kingston, Jamaica.

Bangladesh have made two changes as Zakir Hasan and Shoriful Islam have been dropped from the playing XI. Shadman Islam and Nahid Rana comes in for them. That means Bangladesh have gone for a three-man pace attack again- Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana.

While West Indies have gone for the same XI and that means they select four pacers in their squad again- Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales.

“Going to bat first. Wicket looks good. Two changes: Shadman is playing, and Nahid comes in for Shoriful. Last match was tough. Top order needs to get going. Have to learn quickly in these conditions. Boys are very excited - have been practicing the last 3-4 days,” Bangladesh stand-in captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz said.

“I want to be an example for guys to follow. In a world with T10 and T20 - which is amazing - Test cricket is life. Hope I can inspire many more West Indians to play Tests. We are starting a little later so the moisture is out of it. Would offer a bit with the new ball. Same XI,” West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite said.

West Indies dominated the first Test and won the match by a huge margin of 201 runs. Bangladesh will look to bounce back from the defeat and level the series 1-1.
